Keynote Speaker: Dr. Beverly Tatum

Today the Character Clearinghouse we will be featuring the Keynote Speakers for the Dalton Institute.

On Thursday, February 2, 2017 Dr. Beverly Tatum provided the opening Keynote to the Dalton Institute. Dr. Beverly Tatum is a nationally recognized subject matter expert on racial issues in America and has facilitated and led numerous workshops, presentations, and lectures on racial identity development in education. Dr. Tatum is the author of the critically acclaimed book Why Are All The Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? that has furthered a movement towards understanding race and class in education. In addition, Dr. Tatum has published numerous journal articles, and several books such as Assimilation Blues: Black Families in a White Community and Can We Talk About Race?: And Other Conversations in an Era of School Resegregation. Dr. Tatum has recently retired as Professor Emerita to focus on writing, and speaking on issues related to racial identity.
