Promoting an Ethic of Care: Student Well-Being as a Priority for Higher Education

For over two decades the Jon C. Dalton Institute on College Student Values at Florida State University has focused on issues related to values, ethics, and character in college student development. The 24th annual Dalton Institute will continue this tradition by examining how promoting an ethic of care can contribute to student-college relationships that protect and nurture higher education’s youngest members.

Succeeding in college has never been easy and today’s undergraduates face many new challenges and risks. The 2014 Dalton Institute will examine the current status of undergraduate students and higher education’s role in helping students to succeed and flourish by promoting an ethic of care.
